Dodge Ram Complete Upper and Lower Adjustable Control Arm Kit. Hell Bent Steel is proud to release our heavy-duty adjustable control arms for your full sized Dodge Ram truck! The combination of excellent design and high-quality fabrication has resulted in a superior solution for your Dodge Ram suspension.
Hell Bent Steel has developed replacement control arms which overcome the limitations of the OEM and other after-market control arms.
Hell Bent Steel (HBS) Adjustable Control Arms offer the following:
- Superior design, fabrication and durability for safe, life-long use.
- Fine-tune adjustability for attaining perfect axle position and alignment.
- Effort and time-saving ease of adjustment.
Let us explain…
1. Superior design and fabrication for safe, life-long use.
As your Dodge Ram rolls down the road, the front solid axle moves up and down with the road, but it also wants to move side to side. In traditional OEM control arm designs, the side to side movement is restricted resulting in binding and accelerated wear, which ultimately leads to inferior handling, poor ride-quality and early component failure. Due to the design of the Dodge front suspension, when the axle moves up and down the angle of track bar (which is designed to control the side to side position of the axle) changes. This change in angle of the track bar causes a change in the side-to-side position of the axle. The OEM control arms don’t allow adequate side-to-side motion and therefore all of the linkage points and components are put on a bind where everything is under stress. As the angle of the track bar changes again, the stressed components are relieved momentarily or loaded in the opposite direction. This motion, this stressing and relaxing, occurs continually every time you drive your truck. This is what causes wear and damage to your truck’s suspension components and ultimately deteriorates your ride-quality and results in component failure. The HBS adjustable control arms solves several of the inherent design problems with the stock setup:
Each control arm has two Johnny Joint(R) rod ends (heavy-duty spherical end joints) for increased articulation. This eliminates the binding that occurs with the OEM (and other manufacture’s) control arms.
Each Johnny Joint(R), manufactured by Currie Enterprises, are long-lasting and rebuildable due to the graphite-impregnated polyurethane bushings, as well as being greaseable through the outer shell. This eliminates the resistance caused by the rubber bushings in the OEM (and other manufacture’s) control arms. Excellent ride quality is achieved through the improved noise and motion dampening effect of the Johnny Joint(R) construction.
The center-link arm is precision machined, 1-3/4″ round solid steel bar. The solid bar is much stronger and more durable than the thin sheet metal design of the OEM arms or tubing designs offered by other manufacturers.
2. Fine-tune adjustability for attaining perfect axle position and alignment.
The HBS adjustable control arms solve the alignment issues of your solid axle Dodge Ram with cam bolt caster adjustment only. With the OEM control arm design, and any other fixed length designs, alignment is meant to be achieved through a cam bolt located at the forward connection point of the lower control arm. This cam bolt setup is very limited in its adjustment. In many cases true alignment cannot be achieved, even at maximum cam bolt adjustment. The HBS adjustable control arms eliminate the dependency of alignment on the cam bolts and allows for true alignment to be achieved. The HBS Adjustable control arms offers up to two inches of adjustment. That’s over 3 times the amount of adjustment of cam bolts alone. This makes it easy to fine-tune your suspension after the addition of modifications such as HBS leveling lift kits, as well as, addressing all of your caster related alignment concerns.
HBS Adjustable Control Arms are brilliantly designed with maximum articulation for superior handling, ride-quality and adjustability for true alignment to be obtained. However, the greatest advantage is the ease with which all of these benefits can be achieved through adjustment.
3. Effort and time-saving ease of adjustment.
If you’ve been searching for replacement control arms for your Dodge Ram, you have seen other OEM and after-market designs. Some manufacturers offer longer, fixed-length control arms, which can offer some increased stability, but does nothing for the binding and alignment problems. Other manufacturers offer adjustable arms that have one-end adjustment, which do offer adjustability, but in order to adjust their length the arms need to be installed, measure hub position, uninstall, adjust, install, repeat, repeat, repeat until desired position is achieved. This process is inefficient and ultimately ineffective. The HBS Adjustable control arms are designed to be adjusted while on the vehicle. You install the arms ONE time and adjust them as needed. You can make fine-tune adjustments without the time and effort of removing you wheels and uninstalling the arms. The ability to adjust the arms while on the truck vastly reduces the time and work of attaining the perfect axle position.

I’ve had these on my truck not quite 5 years barely greased them put 110000 miles of mudding and 15k trailer HAULing on them. No issues. Also if you are putting them on yourself I use a 1.5″ and 46mm wrench. If you’re doing a leveling kit these AREa great way to go. Happy hunting.
And thanks hbs.
